Footloose Reflection
Cut Footloose! The Footloose performance took place March 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with a night performance on Friday and Saturday and a matinee on Sunday. Here is my reflection on these days.
Friday: In all honesty, I believed Friday to be the best day, of course I might feel this way due to the grand amount of energy that the audience had this night. Being on stage that night was so ethereal. Not once did I feel like Olivia on that stage. Personally, I think the character of Ariel really took over that day. The best parts of that night for me were when I said “welcome to Bomont” and the performance of Almost Paradise. The crowd went so wild and I was in shock. Friday was spectacular.
Saturday:
This is the performance that the cast seemed to decide in majority was the best. I believe it was because as a whole cast, we were able to perform our lines effectively and had the fewest amount of mistakes. The scenes were executed the smoothest this night I think as well. Personally, I felt the least in character this night. I think I needed to hype myself up a bit more in the beginning. Also, many of my friends parents came that night and I wanted to make a great impression on them, therefore I was really nervous. *sigh*
Sunday:
On this day, I had a ton of family arrive and view the performance. I believe it went well. Sunday always has a different feel. It’s a different time of the day which for me means a different mind set I need to fall in to, but I think I managed to do so just fine. Holding out for a Hero was the best on Sunday I think. My family really liked this song so I was happy as I believed it to be so difficult in the beginning of Winter season practice. I accomplished something big for this reason! Whoop whoop.
I think from these performances I’ve grown so much. I feel a bit more confident I think and my family kind of sees me in a new light? It was amazing playing this character of Ariel. Ariel is fun and a little bossy, witty, but also has gone through some heavy stuff that makes it so amazing when uncovering the layers of her character. Thanks for casting me as Ariel *big smile*. Also, thanks for believing in me so much *big hugs*.
